On February 6, 2023, Father Oliveira was at the beach, fishing, taking a moment of rest. He was idly casting his net into the sea, which went back and forth with the waves.
At a certain moment, he found himself staring at the water, and inexplicably felt an overwhelming urge to run away from where he was. As someone who enjoys fishing and is familiar with the sea, he found this strange sensation unsettling.
He stood still, net in hand, trying to understand what was happening. The situation was akin to a panic attack, a terror without a cause. Then, he had a vision:
A monstrous wave loomed before him. The priest turned his back, retreating to his chair, where his belongings were. When he looked at the ground, he saw in the water the image of the United States flag, as if it were submerged. Everything happened in just a few seconds.
Then the phenomenon ended. There was no wave approaching, no flag on the ground. The priest sat down in the chair and asked God:
"Lord, why do you always show me things like this? I cannot understand what you mean to tell me."
He stood there, remaining in the same spot. The unpleasant feeling subsided, and the priest returned to fishing. He spent days contemplating the event.
Whether the meaning of the revelation is literal or symbolic, whether it pertains to the near or distant future, whether it is conditional or inevitable, none of this is clear. God did not wish to reveal it. Divine language is more comprehensive than our imagination, so let us be patient, for clarity will come in His time.
Revelations like this are given to us as a preparation for the day when a dire event confirms prophecy. Even if such a situation surprises us in the future, we must remember that God has it under His control and will always be with His children.
